– Texturizers are less potent compared to conventional relaxers. So, theoretically, they cause less damage to the hair. Though both contain chemicals to transform the structure of the hair, a relaxer can inherently strip the hair of protein, thereby over-processing it and making it weaker over time, causing dryness, breakage, or damage. Also, touch-ups must be applied every three months. No-lye relaxers are harsh and can be extremely drying to the hair.
